The 26th annual presentation of a community festival inaugurated in 1988 to celebrate the joy of "All Things Italian," Festa Italiana is a week-long series of events held in late September and culminating in a major Italian Festival at Seattle Center. Festa Italiana events focus on the cultural roots and the history of Italians in America-especially the Northwest-and celebrate the arts, the food and the spirit that is uniquely Italian.

The complete calendar of Festa Italiana 2013 is as follows:

Mass in Italian at Mt. Virgin Church, 5 PM Saturday, September 14th
Traditional Catholic Mass at Seattle's original Italian Mission church. Celebrant will be the The Very Reverend Paul Magnano. Light refreshments served in the school hall following. 5:00 PM at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, 2800 S. Massachusetts St. in Seattle, 98144.

11AM, Tuesday, September 24 - Festa Italiana Luncheon at the Seattle Yacht Club.
The Annual Italian Club Festa Luncheon will be held at a new venue this year, the prestigious Seattle Yacht Club on Portage Bay. The event will be held Tuesday September 24th, from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. The Yacht Club offers us a beautiful dining room, great food, and free nearby parking all for a great price, allowing us to LOWER our price for the first time in 20 years! Normally $55 a person, we now are charging just $50 a head for this great event. This new pricing and the addition of free parking will make this a sellout for sure, so please get your RSVP's in early. Festa Italiana will soon be announcing this year's Gil Centioli Award winner as well as the recipient of the Patricia DeLaurenti Volunteer of the Award, and the guest speaker will be Brian Boitano, Olympic Champion ice skater. He is also the host of "What Would Brian Boitano Make?" a cooking show on the Food Network.Sponsored by the Italian Club of Seattle.

Wine Tasting & Opening Reception, 7-10 PM in the newly-remodelled Center House / Armory (formerly the Food Circus) at Seattle Center. Great wine, antipasto & live music by The Primo Basso Band. $25 in advance or $30 at the door and you must be 21 to attend.

Saturday & Sunday, September 28 & 29 - The Italian Festival.
The culmination of Festa Italiana and the largest ethnic festival at Seattle Center, the Italian Festival features food, music, art, dance and participatory activities for the entire family. There's "The Great Italian Chefs" cooking demonstrations, the Festa Grape Stomp, the DeLaurenti Bocce Tournament, children's activities, an historical photo collection, a contemporary exhibit of photos of Italy, an Italian Classic Vehicle Show, and three stages with Free Entertainment.
