Italy is a visual feast for photographers. From the beaches of Viareggio to the magnificence of Milano, Italy looks great on film! Festa Italiana Seattle 2007 will once again be the site of FOTO ITALIANA, Fine Art Photographic Images of Italy. Gallery show curator Larry Snyder Jr. has brought together works from seven accomplished photographers, including two who will have just returned from capturing new and incredible views of Italy. FOTO ITALIANA begins with a Gallery Opening on Friday, September 28th concurrent with "The Taste of Italy," Wine Tasting and Opening Painting by Carmelo Sortinoceremonies. The location will be Painting by Phyllis 'Ceratto' Evansthe Seattle Center (Art) Pavilion directly south of the Key Arena and west of the Flag Pavilion House. During the three day gallery show visitors to FOTO ITALIANA will have an opportunity to meet the artists and share some of your own Italy memories and dreams. SEATTLE OPERA presents an exhibit of costumes from Italian operas.

For the season of 2007 - 2008 Seattle Opera will present four consecutive operas, all in Italian! They are "The Italian Girl in Algiers" by Rossini, "Don Giovanni" by Mozart, Handel's "Julius Caesar," and arguably the world's most popular opera "La Bohème" by Puccini.

As a special bonus for Festa attendees, costumes from all of these productions and more will be on display at the Italian Festival in the Seattle Center Pavilion adjacent to the exhibits of Foto Italiana and the Italian Historical Photos. These fabulous costumes can also be viewed by attending the "Taste of Italy" on Friday night.

In addition, there will also be a live "Preview" of all four operas featuring vocalists from the Seattle Opera's Young Artists Program and hosted by Jonathan Dean, at 4 PM on Saturday, September 23rd.
